Don't Let Stress Keep You Up at Night

Invest to Sleep Better at Night, Not the Other Way Round

Let’s face it: investing is hard to do successfully all the time. Various market factors could add up to undue stress, especially when the market is wildly going up and down. Markets go jittery and jumpy all the time. But you feel that every little pullback keeps you up at night, it may be the time to loosen up a bit.

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t care about your investments. What this means is that you shouldn’t ever let stress get the best of you.

Too much concern isn’t going to help your investments. Quite the opposite, it may drive you to make irrational investing decisions clouded by pure emotions and fear. Take the time to learn about investing in the stock market, assess your risks, adjust your expectations, and revise your strategy over time to find out what works best for you.

“Unless you can watch your stock holding decline by 50% without becoming panic-stricken, you should not be in the stock market.” — Warren Buffett
