It operates through following business segments: Self-storage Operations, Ancillary Operations, Investment in PS Business Parks and Investment in Shurgard Europe. The Self-storage Operations segment acquires, develops, owns, and operates self-storage facilities which offer storage spaces for lease on a month-to-month basis, for personal and business use. The Ancillary Operations segment deals with reinsure policies against losses to goods stored by customers in self-storage facilities, and sell merchandise, primarily locks and cardboard boxes, at self-storage facilities. The Investment in PS Business Parks segment owns, operates, acquires and develops commercial properties, primarily multi-tenant flex, office, and industrial parks.
